Landscape Designer

American Plant is seeking an experienced, creative, self-motivated landscape designer who excels at building client relationships, will offer exemplary customer service, and is able to efficiently manage multiple landscape projects on any given day.

 Responsibilities include:

  • Developing client base with an emphasis on project sales
  • Following through with client leads and consultations
  • Designing master plans
  • Site visits on installations
  • Assuring client satisfaction
  • Qualifications include:
  • Landscape design experience
  • demonstrated record of excellence in customer service
  • Thorough knowledge of plant material
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to create and manage own schedule
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) skill a plus

Human Resources Specialist

If you are a rising Human Resource professional, this could be your opportunity to take your career to the next level. American Plant, garden centers and landscape design/build division in Bethesda, Maryland is seeking a human resource specialist.

Essential job requirements include:

  • Serving as an advisor for employee relation issues, including performance management, disciplinary actions, promotions and terminations;
  • Evaluate and make recommendations to enhance human resource related policies and programs; responsible for new employee recruitment and orientation;
  • Serve as the plan administrator for benefit programs;
  • Maintain employee records;
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws and regulations.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field and/or;
  • 3 years professional human resource experience;
  • Be able to demonstrate a broad spectrum of communication skills, including professional interaction with executives and employees at all levels;
  • Excellent organization skills with attention to detail, accuracy and accountability;
  • Demonstrated integrity and confidentiality;
  • Ability to speak Spanish is a plus.
